GOD'S PROMISES: GRIEF

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

God: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

God: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2

“You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” Psalm 18:28

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2

“God will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

“My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” Psalm 119:50

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

“For He has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hidden His face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” Psalm 22:24

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:4-5

“For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Jesus: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.” Lamentations 3:31-33

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:31-34

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39

“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. 1 Corinthians 15:52-54

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:6-9

Jesus: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4

Lyrics:
I’m living proof Of what the mercy of God can do
If You knew me then You’d believe me now
He turned my whole life upside down
He took the old and He made it new
That’s just what the mercy of God can do

Now I’m alive to tell the story How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy And the power of His blood
I’m so glad that my freedom Wasn’t based on what I’ve done
But His goodness and mercy And the power of the blood

Thought I deserved To be six feet beneath the earth
For all the things I’ve done The things I’ve said
The choices made that I regret Oh I would still be lost
But for the mercy of God

Now I’m alive to tell the story How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy And the power of His blood
I’m so glad that my freedom Wasn’t based on what I’ve done
But His goodness and mercy And the power of the blood

Was the cross meant for me That my Savior carried
Now I’ve been made free By the mercy of God
Was the grave meant for me Where my sin lay buried
Now I stand redeemed By the mercy of God

Now I’m alive to tell the story How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy And the power of His blood
I’m so glad that my freedom Wasn’t based on what I’ve done
But His goodness and mercy And the power of the blood

Was the cross meant for me That my Savior carried
Now I’ve been made free By the mercy of God
Was the grave meant for me Where my sin lay buried
Now I stand redeemed By the mercy of God

What can wash away my sin Nothing but the blood of Jesus /  What can make me whole again Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Lyrics:
I’ll never be more loved than I am right now
Wasn’t holding You up so there’s nothing I can do to let You down
Doesn’t take a trophy to make You proud
I’ll never be more loved than I am right now

Going through a storm but I won’t go down
I hear Your voice carried in the rhythm of the wind to call me out
You would cross an ocean so I wouldn’t drown
You’ve never been closer than You are right now

Jireh You are enough
Jireh You are enough
I will be content in every circumstance
Jireh You are enough

Don’t wanna forget how I feel right now
On the mountaintop I can see so clear what it’s all about
Stay by my side when the sun goes down
Don’t wanna forget how I feel right now

I’m already loved I’m already chosen
I know who I am I know what You’ve spoken
I’m already loved More than I could imagine
And that is enough

That is enough
You are enough
So I am enough

If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor
How much more will He clothe you
How much more will He clothe you
If He watches over every sparrow
How much more does He love you
How much more does He love you

More than you ask, think or imagine
According to His power working in us
It’s more than enough

Shall Not Want | Written by Steven Furtick, Chandler Moore, Naomi Raine, Chris Brown

Lyrics:
Will You be my light, when I cannot see
When I can’t take another step, Lord, would You carry me
When I’ve lost my fight, will You be my strength
Will You set me a table in the presence of my enemies

I shall not want, I shall not want
Oh my soul’s got a shepherd in the valley and I shall not want
I shall not want, I shall not want
Cause my cup’s running over, running over
and I shall not want

I will lift my eyes to where my help comes from
And I won’t be afraid of the shadow cause I’ve seen the sun
No I will not stop, when the way gets hard
Cause the green only grows in the valley and that’s where You are

I got goodness and I got mercy
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
I got goodness and I got mercy
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
I got goodness and I got mercy
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
The Good Shepherd leads me to the waters
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
He anoints me, anoints me with His oil
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
Now my cup is, my cup is running over
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
I won’t fear, no, fear no evil
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
I will dwell in His house forever
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelu, glory hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelu, glory hallelujah

When this life is over, I’m gonna live again
Gonna trade this cross for a crown
No, this is not the end
When You call my name, I will take my rest
There’s a mansion in glory and You’re gonna meet me there

I shall not want, I shall not want
He will wipe every tear from my eyes
I shall not want
I shall not want, I shall not want
I’ll be home in His presence forever
I shall not want
For the Lord is my shepherd
And I shall not want

LYRICS: Adom (Grace)

I don’t look like what I have been through
You turned my pit into a well
So the essence of my praise
Is centred on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W’adom
(Grace, Grace, Your Grace)

I’ve been through a lot but Grace sustained me
My test is now a testimony
So the essence of my praise
Is centred on your Grace
Adom, Adom, W’adom
(Grace, Grace, Your Grace)

It was you my lawyer in that courtroom
It was you my soldier on that battlefield
So the essence of my praise
Is centred on your Grace
Adom, Adom, W’adom
(Grace, Grace, Your Grace)

Eei, Adom O Nyame, Adom O Adom

Who has changed my story?
Who has given me a song?
Turned my mourning into dancing
It is you and just your grace
You have changed my story
Protocol breaker you made a way
You turned my mourning into dancing
It is You and just Your grace

Could not have made it without You
Could not have sailed through without You
Your Loving kindness, grace and mercy
Brought me through
So the essence of my praise, is centred on Your grace
Adom Adom, W’adom
(Grace, Grace, Your Grace)

Could not have made it without You
Could not have sailed through without You
Papa, Your Loving kindness, grace and mercies
Brought me through
So the essence of my praise, is all centred on Your grace

Build Your Church | Written Naomi Raine and Alton Eugene

Lyrics:
On Christ alone
Our Chief Cornerstone
No other foundation
Can we build upon

Not philosophy
Nor the wisdom of man
All other ground
Is sinking sand

Upon this Rock
You build Your Church
And the gates of hell
Will not prevail

When we bind and loose
We proclaim Your truth
And in Jesus’ Name,
We will not fail

Crucified
Raised up from the dead
Led captivity captive
It is finished

He gave us the keys
His authority
Now we are joint-heirs
To the praise of His glory

Build Your Church
Build Your Church
Build it from the ground up
It’s Your Church

Build Your Church
Build Your Church
Build it from the ground up
We’re Your Church

LYRICS

I remember when I was young
And your voice shouting loud my name
Since that moment
Never heard it quite that way
Now that I’m older
Could you say it again

I remember when I was afraid
Oh the hand I felt lead the way
For the first time in my life I felt safe
Now that I’m older
Would you lead me again

Chorus:
When the storm is out on the ocean
And the violent wind get’s to blowing
Oh take me back, back
All the way back
Oh take me back to my first love

I remember when I was blind
Until your love opened up my eyes
Oh my life, flooded with your light
Now that I’m older
Would you show me again
Oh would you show me again

Chorus:
When the storm is out on the ocean
And the violent wind get’s to blowing
Oh take me back, back
All the way back
Oh take me back to my first love

Bridge:
You are real to me
I’ve known it from the start
There’s no space between
The Heaven’s and my heart

You are near to me
I’ve never been too far
And in the in between
You brought Heaven to my heart
