I want to share with you briefly the good news of God’s forgiving grace to encourage your heart. I want to share with you a portion of Scripture from Colossians 2:13-14 (PH). It goes like this:

Christ has forgiven you all your sins: He has utterly wiped out the damning evidence of broken commandments which always hung over our heads and has completely annulled it by nailing it to the cross.

What an amazing passage of Scripture. May I encourage you to lock it in your heart, and when you do, you will never feel condemned or defeated.

Here are four (4) things that God does for us according to this Scripture.

One, He says, He has forgiven you all your sins.” Every single one of them, not just the big ones, but all of them has been forgiven by Christ.

Next, He has utterly wiped out the damning evidence.” In other words, you will never stand in judgment before God for the wrongs that you have done. What great news!

Also, He says that  they have been “completely annulled.” That word means that in the eyes of God, it has never happened.

As though that were not enough, He adds this too, that Your sins … has been nailed to the cross of Christ Jesus.” This means that the debt has been paid by Christ. He has satisfied the penalty, and so you will never be condemned before God.

Now, why is this important?

Well, the reason this is important is every now, and then when we do something wrong, we hear a voice that tells us that God may be punishing us for what we did or should have done and didn’t do.

Let me make it clear, my good friends, that God does not hold grudges! God does not get even with us!

If you have given your life to Christ, all the punishment of your sin has already fallen on Him, and He has already paid the price, so we don’t have to pay that again. That is called Justification.

As a child of God, you have the privilege and the benefit to live your life in the power of God’s forgiving grace.

Let me pray with you:

God, I pray that your people today will experience your forgiving grace. I pray that every sin, every guilt, every shame will be wiped out from their memory. Lord, I pray that you will grant them a fresh start to live their life free from any destructive habits. Lord give them the power to say “no” to negative choices, and “yes” to positive choices that will bring blessing to their life.

Oh God, I thank you for your forgiving grace that makes all things new in Jesus’ name, Amen!
