TODAY’S PRAYER POINTS  - Praying Jesus' 7 Last Words on The Cross

Come before the Lord worshiping Him and thanking God for all He’s done for you.

1. "Father forgive them for they do not  know what they are doing"

“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.”” Luke 23:34, NIV

Thank God that He is our Divine Advocate and High Priest, who lives to intercede for us. Thank Him for His amazing love. Pray asking for His forgiveness, compassion and tender-loving kindness.

2. "I tell you the truth: Today you will be with me in paradise"

“But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23;40-43, NIV

Our Lord is in the restoration business. He seeks that no one perishes and will redeem us if we call Him.  Acknowledge Him as your Restorer and Redeemer. Ask Him to save you and draw you closer to Him

 3. "Woman, behold your son"

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister … and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” John 20:25-27, NIV

Ask God to strengthen families, marriages, relationships.

4. "My God, my God why you have you forsaken me

“From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”—which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:45-49, NIV

Thank Jesus for bearing our guilt, shame, and rejection that we will be accepted by God. Pray that God will break your heart into submission of His will and His way.

5. "I'm thirsty"

“Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” John 19:28, NIV

Jesus thirsted, that you we may filled. Today, ask Him to fill every area of your life, motivated by the following promises.

"Everyone who thirsts. . .Come, buy, eat, without money and without price . . .  And let your soul delight itself in abundance (Isaiah 55:1-4)

"Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)

6. "It is finished"

“A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:29-30, NIV

Pray, speaking faith into every troubling situation in your life. Declare by faith, because of the Jesus' ultimate payment (Atonement) that "It is finished. Declare your breakthrough!!!!!

"Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5 But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5, New Living Translation)

7. "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit"

“It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.” Luke 23:44-49, NIV

Thank Jesus for the perfect sacrifice of His life for your life. Follow His example by committing every area of your life into His hands.
