GOD’S PLENTIFUL COVENANT PROVISIONS FOR HIS PEOPLE
INTRODUCTION
As Christians, we need to take stock of the advantages that come from our faith in Jesus Christ. We should be aware of the provisions of the covenant that salvation has ushered in. This study focuses on God’s “exceedingly abundantly above” covenant provisions for His people.
“Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” Ephesians 3:20 (LB)
1. GOD’S ABUNDANT GRACE TO SAVE US
“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.” Romans 5:20 (NLT)
2. GOD’S ABUNDANT PARDON TO FORGIVE US
God’s grace is so great that He forgives us in abundance
“The wicked should stop doing wrong, and they should stop their evil thoughts. They should return to the Lord so he may have mercy on them. They should come to our God, because he will freely forgive them.” Isaiah 55:7 (NCV)
“I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”Hebrews 8:12 (NLT)
“If we confess our sins, God will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done.” 1 John 1:9 (GW)
3. GOD’S ABUNDANT SATISFACTION TO FILL US
“They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.” Psalm 36:8 (NKJV)
“God keeps satisfying you with good things, and He keeps renewing your life like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:5 (ISV)
“Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:10 (NLT)
4. GOD’S ABUNDANT PEACE TO QUIETEN OUR “STORMS”
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (LB)
5. GOD’S ABUNDANT LIFE TO EQUIP US
Jesus: “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance - to the full, till it overflows” John 10:10 (AMP)
“The Lord All-Powerful said: “You people are precious to me, and when I come to bring justice, I will protect you, just as parents protect an obedient child. Then everyone will once again see the difference between those who obey me by doing right and those who reject me by doing wrong.” Malachi 3:17-18 (CEV)
“Don't be discouraged or grow weak from fear! The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and He will refresh your life with His love” Zechariah 3:16-18 (CEV)
6. GOD’S ABUNDANT POWER TO STRENGTHEN US
“God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient.” Colossians 1:11 (NCV)
“Those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” Isaiah 40:31 (GN)
