Turning Anxiety To A Satisfied Life

    Bible Study

    Mike Prah

God desires that His children carry all their worries and anxieties to Him; and to leave them with Him, so that He will bless them with His peace and provision.

Let’s look at the Principle, Practice, and Promise of this Biblical truth.

     1. Commit Yourself To God

“I am suffering here in prison because I tell the Good News. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the One in whom I trust, and I am sure that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until the day of His return.” 2 Timothy 1:12 NLT+NCV

     2. Commit Your Soul To God

“Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator” 1 Peter 4:19 NKJV

    •  As believers, we will encounter suffering sometimes, but if we commit our souls to the Lord in well-doing, as the three Hebrew young men did, we would, like them, cut loose our bonds and gain the company of Jesus.

     3. Commit Everything You Do To The Lord

“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and He will help you.” Psalm 37:5 NLT

“Depend on the Lord; trust Him, and he will take care of you.” Psalm 37:5 NCV

     4. Commit Your Burdens To The Lord

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” Psalm 55:22 NLT

“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.” Psalm 34:19 NlT

    • If we make the Lord our Burden-bearer, He will shall deliver us each time

    5. Commit Your Plans To The Lord

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Provebs 16:3 NLT

We can make our plans,  but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9 NLT

    •  If you want to succeed in your goals, you need God to direct you. Without God, you can, at times, make the wrong decisions, which may lead you on the wrong path.
    • God is able to direct you concerning the desires of your heart. God may not always give you what you want, but He will provide you with what is best for you.
    • God will give you better than what you desire in your heart. However, you need to trust Him, that He has plans to prosper you.

    SCRIPTURE PASSAGES

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow” Matthew 6:25-27, 31-34a NLT

“We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10 And He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us.” 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NLT
