ABBA FATHER IS YOUR SUFFICIENCY
Mike Prah – March 13, 2022

“I will hope in Your name, for Your name is good.”  Psalm 52:9, NIV

The first step to transformational blessing: is to connect to God

“This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”  Matthew 6:9 (NIV)

“Philip said to Jesus, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us." John 14:8, GW

Abbá – (Aramaic: "Father") is the term of tender endearment by a beloved child in an affectionate, dependent relationship with their father; "daddy," "papa."

“ABBA, FATHER,” Jesus cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine” Mark 14:36, NLT

“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “ABBA, FATHER” Romans 8:15, NLT

"Because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “ABBA, FATHER” Galatians 4:6, NLT

WE CAN CONNECT WITH GOD, BECAUSE...

 1. GOD—ABBA FATHER IS A CARING FATHER

“As a father has compassion on His children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him…” Psalm 103:13 (NIV)

2. GOD—ABBA FATHER IS A CONSISTENT FATHER

“Every good and perfect gift … is from the Father … who does not change like shifting shadows.”  James 1:17 (NIV)

 3. GOD—ABBA FATHER IS A CLOSE FATHER

“God did this [all the things he’s done in history] so people would … reach out for Him and find Him, since He is not far from each of us.”  Acts 17:27 (NIV)

Jesus: “He is the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God. The world cannot receive Him, because it cannot see him or know him. But you know Him, because He remains with you and is in you.” John 14:17, GN

“You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own” 1 Corinthians 6:19, NLT

“God wanted his people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery—which is Christ living in you, giving you the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27, GW

“All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God” 1 John 4:15, NLT

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves Me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” John 14:23, NIV

“No other nation, no matter how great, has a god who is so near when they need him as the Lord our God is to us. He answers us whenever we call for help.” Deuteronomy 4:7, GN

He is never too busy for me.

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth”  Psalm 145:18 (NIV)

He loves to meet my needs

“If you…know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!”  Matthew 7:11 (NIV)

He is sympathetic to my hurts

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”  Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

 4. GOD—ABBA FATHER IS A COMPETENT FATHER

For nothing is impossible with God.”  Luke 1:37 (NIV)

“God … is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes!”  Ephesians 3:20 (LB)

“God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus … is between them to bring them together, by giving His life for all mankind.”  1 Timothy 2:5-6 (LB)

“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26 (NLT)
