MOSES: MAKING CHOICES FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL LIFE CHANGE - Pt2

HEBREWS 11:23-27

TRUSTING GOD TO OPEN DOORS Series – Pt 9

Mike Prah – February 28, 2021

“God can do anything – FAR MORE than you could ever imagine or guess or request or dream in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working gently within us.”  Ephesians 3:20 (MSG)

“(Jesus) included everyone in His death so that everyone could also be included in His life, a resurrection life, a FAR BETTER LIFE than people ever lived on their own.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 (MSG)

“By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.  By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose instead to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than all the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward in heaven. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:23-27 (NIV84)

 3. I MUST CHOOSE   FOR LONG-TERM GAIN

“Moses chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.” Hebrews 11:25 (NIV)

“By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, REFUSED to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. Moses CHOSE to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.”   Hebrews 11:24-25 (NIV)

“We can have joy in our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope.” Romans 5:3-4 (NCV)

“These present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long.  Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever!”  2 Corinthians 4:17 (NLT)

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen.  What is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.”  2 Corinthians 4:18(NIV)

 4. I MUST CHOOSE TO LIVE BY  , NOT BY FEAR

“By faith, Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27 (NIV)

“Jesus said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" Mark 4:40 NIV

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me" John 14:1 NLT

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.I praise God for what He has promised. In God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4 NIV/NLT

HOW DO I KEEP MY LIFE-SHAPING CHOICES?

GET PLUGGED INTO THE CHURCH ACTIVELY

Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another show love and do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one other all the more...” Hebrews 10:24-25 (GN)

ASK AND EXPECT GOD TO HELP

Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be dismayed.  Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will. And I know that I will triumph!” Isaiah 50:7 (NLT)
