 “The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. WHEN THEY CALL ON ME; I WILL ANSWER, I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT)

 1. YOU MUST HAVE AN HONEST RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

 "If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you can ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you."  John 15:7 (NIV) 

• Have I refused to admit things that I have done wrong in the past?

 “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,  the Lord would not have listened” Psalm 66:18 (NLT)

 “It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, He has turned away and will not listen anymore.” Isaiah 59:2 (NLT)

 “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)

 “If we say, “We aren’t sinful” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, He forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong” 1 John 1:8-9 (GW) 

• Am I currently ignoring any of God's principles?

 “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask because we keep His commands and do what pleases Him” 1 John 3:21-22 (NIV) 

• Do I really want God's will for my life?

 "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14 (NIV)

  2. YOU MUST HAVE A FORGIVING ATTITUDE TOWARD OTHER PEOPLE

 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:24-25(NIV)

 "Watch out that no bitterness take root among you for as it springs up among you it causes deep trouble, hurting many in their spiritual lives." Hebrews 12:15 (LB)

 "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives and treat them with respect ... so that nothing will hinder your prayers."  1 Peter 3:7 (NIV)
