PRAYER POINTS

The Prophet David prays “I will praise His holy name”. Come before the Lord praising His holy name. Today’s prayer is focused on God’s promises from Psalm 103:1-5, 13

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name.2 … may I never forget the good things He does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He redeems me from destruction and crowns me with love and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! 13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:1-5, 13 (NLT+NKJV)

JOSEPH: LAWS OF PROMOTION

Genesis 37-39

Father's Day, June 20, 2021

Mike Prah

“God lifts the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from a garbage heap. He seats them with influential people, with the influential leaders of His people.” Psalm 113:7-8 (NOG)

“Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it SHINE for all to see. In the same way, let your good deeds SHINE out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”  Matthew 5:15-16 (NLT1996)

THE MOST-PROMOTED QUALITIES. LESSONS FROM JOSEPH (GENESIS 37-39)

 1. AUDACITY

AUDACITY: The courage to think BIG, show initiative, and take RISKS for a dream while facing the possibility of failure.

“Joseph had a dream. When he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more...  When he told his father as he had his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, "What is this dream you had?”  Genesis 37:5+10 (NIV)

 2. LIKABILITY

LIKEABILITY: Possessing the attractive ATTITUDES and relational SKILLS that cause others to want to work with me.

“Joseph lived in the home of Potiphar, his Egyptian owner. Soon Potiphar realized that the Lord was helping Joseph to be successful in whatever he did. Potiphar took a liking to Joseph and made him his personal assistant...”  Genesis 39:2-4a (CEV)

 3. CAPACITY

CAPACITY: My potential for GROWTH. The desire to keep LEARNING so I can increase in competence and handle greater responsibility.

“Joseph naturally became quite a favorite with Potiphar. Soon he put Joseph in charge of his entire household and entrusted him with all his business dealings. From the day Joseph was put in charge, the Lord began to bless Potiphar for Joseph's sake. All his household affairs began to run smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished.”  Genesis 39:4-5 (NLT)

 4. RELIABILITY

RELIABILITY: Earning the TRUST of others by always keeping my promises and fulfilling my responsibilities, even if it requires sacrifice.

“So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn't have a worry in the world, except to decide what he wanted to eat!” Genesis 39:6 (NLT)

 5. LOYALTY

LOYALTY: Being faithful to my boss and to God when difficulty TESTS my commitment.

“Now Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man. So Potiphar's wife began to desire him and invited him to sleep with her. But Joseph refused. "Look," he told her, "my master trusts me with everything in his entire household. No one here has more authority than I do! He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How could I ever do such a wicked thing to him? And it would be a great sin against God."   Genesis 39:6b-8-9 (NLT)

“You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.”  Philippians 2:15 (NLT)

S - step out in faith (Audacity)

H - HELP OTHERS SUCCEED (Likability)

I - IMPROVE MYSELF DAILY (Capacity)

N - NEVER MAKE EXCUSES (Reliability)

               E - ELIMINATE DISLOYALTY (Loyalty)

“God lifts the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from a garbage heap. He seats them with influential people, with the influential leaders of His people.” Psalm 113:7-8 (NOG)
